Positive Connections Group
Making the right kind of connections is important to developing children. But not every child is comfortable in social settings, especially if they have developmental disabilities or mental health issues.
Alta Behavioral Healthcare has worked to develop a safe space for children to reach new social goals and meet new friends. Our Positive Connections Group is dedicated to children from 10 – 21 years who have developmental disabilities or mental health issues. Taking place every second and third Thursday of the month from 4 – 6 p.m., this group focuses on developing social skills and internet safety using games and teamwork socializations with peers.
Lead by Alta Counselors, this group will:
- Use games for social skills
- Practice communication
- Practice cooperation
- Discuss cell phone /internet safety and importance of personal hygiene
- Practice peer socialization and teamwork
A light snack will be provided. This group is open to current and new Alta Behavioral clients and take place at our Camp Challenge Location (939 Wilkinson Ave Youngstown, Ohio 44509)
