Billing Department Manager

We are seeking a Full Time Billing Department Manager to join our team to manage and oversee our Billing department and staff and to also perform other related activities such as billing and charge entry functions for the center in accordance with Alta’s policies and procedures. Wage range commensurate upon experience. Must have a minimum of 5 years Medical Billing Experience. Preference will be given to those with Behavioral Health Billing experience.

Job Duties
• Oversee the daily workflow of the billing department and train new staff.
• Streamline and create efficiencies in the billing department.
• Prepares weekly and monthly reports of Medicaid billing for the CFO.
• Analysis and report on billing metrics.
• Assist the CFO in preparation of budget and of summary and special reports concerning fiscal, budgetary matters.
• Prepare, post, verify and record client payments and transactions related to accounts receivable.
• Review bank statements, commercial websites, daily to identify what needs posted against the client record.
• Check cash receipts and reconciliation daily.
• Type, reconcile and verify monthly client billings and insurance forms.
• Ensures that Insurance information is accurate, and clients include all information required for Medicaid and Insurance reimbursement.
• Prepare charges and creates invoices for client and Insurance companies according to company practices, submits invoices to clients, and insurance.
• Drafts correspondence for standard past-due accounts and collections, identifies delinquent accounts by reviewing files and general ledger, and contacts delinquent accountholders to request payment. Creates reports regarding the status of customer accounts as requested.
• Prepare and verify Medicaid billing roster, assist in reconciliations to Medicaid. Post Medicaid 835’s. Verifies Medicaid coding. Attend meetings or workshops to update Medicaid billing procedures.
• Inputs correct billing information and transmits electronically to the Medicaid carrier.
• Monitors client insurance and keeps updated.
• Responsible for operating computer software to produce electronic billing which includes processing of data information and generating reports. Works directly with software provider, consultants and in-house IT technical staff to correct problems to improve and sustain electronic billing system.
• Responsible for posting various types of accounting transactions to ledgers, journals, or cash books. Keep budget accounts and auxiliary records, prepares audits and special accounting reports.
• Verifies computer system accuracy in M.I.S. Billing. Responsible for creating valid procedures and service codes, trouble shoots problems. Works directly with the software providers in carrying out these duties.

Minimum Qualifications
• H.S. Diploma and a minimum of 5 years experience with Medical insurance billing procedures.
• Experience with CPT codes and ICD-10 diagnosis codes.

Preferred Qualifications
• Prior work in mental health/medical health related field.
• Prior experience with HCFA 1500 billing and knowledgeable of governmental, managed care and commercial payer regulations.
• Trade School Certificate or Associates degree plus minimum of five years’ experience.

Behavior Specialist

This position provides early childhood services to address the behavioral and mental health needs of assigned children and their families. The primary work function will focus on providing early intervention and strategies to improve the emotional well-being, communication skills, general adaptive functioning, and social competence of individual children. The Behavior Specialist will provide behavior support services for assigned children in Alta Head Start classrooms and their families through routine classroom sessions and home visits. This position also requires knowledge and demonstration of competency in the use of Conscious Discipline, The Incredible Years®, and Devereux’s Early Childhood Assessment.
To provide on-site social-emotional and behavioral services at varied locations throughout the Alta Head Start system. Therapeutic Behavioral Services (TBS) is a temporary form of mental health intervention specialty designed to provide in-home/school support service delivery to those children with serious emotional problems, or with maladaptive and or disruptive behaviors who are experiencing a stressful transition or life crisis. These services may include, but are not limited to:
a. Consultation with a licensed practitioner or an eligible provider to assist with the individual’s needs and service planning for individualized supports or care coordination of healthcare, behavioral healthcare, and non-healthcare services and development of a treatment plan;
b. Referral and linkage to other healthcare, behavioral healthcare, and non-healthcare services to avoid more restrictive levels of treatment;
c. Interventions using evidence-based techniques;
d. Identification of strategies or treatment options;
e. Restoration of social skills and daily functioning; and,
f. Crisis prevention and amelioration.
To support Head Start teachers in classrooms with assigned children expressing challenging behaviors.
Willingness to provide support and solutions for children expressing accelerated emotions.
To support children expressing challenging behaviors and their families.
Contribute to the development of an individualized strength-based plan for each child on caseload.
Review the Plan with the client/family according to Alta procedures and timelines.
Maintain compliance with state and/or Alta outcome measures to assure appropriate completeness, timelines, and utilization with consumers in developing treatment goals and assessing treatment progress.
Develop and provide solution focused interventions using social-emotional and behavioral management from evidence-based best practices.
Conduct home visits and other means of contact with families.
Display knowledge and experience of developmentally appropriate social- emotional practices when working with infant, toddlers, and preschool age children.
Ability to conduct written and oral observations and provide strength‐based feedback to professionals and families.
Work with staff at all levels to assist families in addressing barriers to accessing mental health services and discuss the importance of implementing interventions within the child’s family system.
Have knowledge of formal and informal resource networks that support the mental health and social-emotional well-being of young children.
Become familiar with Alta Mental Health policies and procedures and as well as other content area policies and procedures.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION:
1. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in social work, psychology, nursing, or in related human services, or
2. High school diploma with a minimum of three years or relevant experience.

Home & Community Based Therapist (Functional Family Therapist)

We are seeking a clinician to provide Functional Family Therapy (FFT) to children, adolescents, and their families. The successful candidate will, as part of a team, provide counseling services to a small caseload of families in their natural living environments, school, or other necessary locations in Trumbull and Mahoning counties. The team receives specialized training and ongoing consultation in FFT, an evidenced-based treatment intervention, from national consultants and model experts. The candidate will work closely with other community stakeholders, including Child Protective Services and Juvenile Court. Starting salary is very competitive (starting at $50,000.00/annually, based on credentials and experience).

POSITION OVERVIEW

Therapists working in this program will have the opportunity to empower families to make transformational changes in the lives of youth ranging from 10-18 years of age. Using interventions that are strengths-based, culturally sensitive, and tailored to the unique characteristics of the families we serve, our therapists will prevent youth from a range of negative outcomes, including unnecessary hospitalizations and custody relinquishments. As part of the OhioRISE initiative, our therapists collaborate with other area professionals to provide coordinated care to youth and their families.

Flexibility in adjusting work schedules is both necessary to fulfill the responsibilities of the position and a benefit of joining this team. Preference will be given to candidates who make available times that accommodate the work and school schedules of parents and youth. Evening availability is necessary. Successful candidates can flex their time to meet their own needs during the day (ex. attend their own appointments) while serving families when youth and their family members are available.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum qualifications must include licensure with the state of Ohio as Professional Counselor, Marriage and Family Therapist or Social Worker.

School Based Counselor

School Based Child/ Family Therapist: Our school based mental health services are expanding and we are seeking Full Time (LPC, LSW, LPCC or LISW), Counselor to join our team and deliver mental health and counseling services to children, adolescents, and families. GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Specific Responsibilities

  • Initiate and provide Community Support (case management) services including assessment, linkage, advocacy, and referral as client needs become apparent and as developed in the ISP.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Masters Degree in counseling, social work or other related field and licensure with the State of Ohio Counselor and Social Worker Board as a L.P.C., L.P.C.C., L.S.W. or L.I.S.W., and registered (or eligible to register) as a Counselor or Social Work Trainee.

Mobile Response Stabilization Service (MRSS) Worker

We are seeking a Full Time Therapist to join our team and deliver Mobile Response and Stabilization services to adolescents, children and young adults and their families. The MRSS Therapist will be accountable for providing day-to-day mobile crisis intervention, follow up and support within our offices, the community, and schools.

MRSS is a structured community based, in-person, intervention and support service for youth and families, provided by a mobile response and stabilization service team. It is a prevention-focused emergency program that serves as a gateway to other services across the system of care.  MRSS is designed to promptly address situations in which young people are experiencing emotional symptoms, behaviors, or traumatic circumstances that compromise or impact their ability to function within their family, living situation, school, or community. The youth and family guide MRSS interventions, with the strengths and needs of the young person and family determining the types and mix of services and supports provided.

The MRSS Therapist is responsible for providing emergency mobile response and stabilization to families with youth and young adults up to age 21 who are experiencing difficulties or distress.  The MRSS Therapist will provide intervention within the MRSS guidelines, based on acuity. This service also provides in-home stabilization services and linkage to on-going supports. The youth and family guide MRSS interventions, with the strengths and needs of the young person and family determining the types and mix of services and supports provided. The MRSS therapist will work as part of a team and develops an MRSS plan to be implemented by the team which includes a Peer Support Staff person or Qualified Mental Health Specialist.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Bachelor’s degree.
  2. Two (2) years’ experience in children and family services.
  3. Licensure from the Ohio Counselor, Social Worker, and Marriage and Family Therapist Board.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Specific experience in clinical activities with a focus on child and family therapy, diagnosis of psychopathology, treatment of severe behavior disorders, treatment of abuse and neglect related disorders, treatment of children at risk for hospitalization and out of home placement most preferred.
  2. Crisis intervention and response experience.
  3. Case Management experience.
